About

Our Story
Art. Culture. Connection.
For nearly four decades, the Zullo Gallery has been a place where people come together to celebrate creativity.
Located in the heart of downtown Medfield, Zullo is more than a gallery—it is a welcoming cultural destination where art, music, learning, and shared experiences create meaningful connections and enrich community life.
Our mission is rooted in a simple belief: Creativity has the power to bring people together.
Our Beginning
The Zullo Gallery was established in 1988 by the Medfield Council on the Arts to support and promote the arts in the community. From the beginning, the vision was never simply to display artwork. It was to create a place where people could experience creativity together.
Over the years, that vision expanded.
What began as a gallery evolved into a vibrant community space offering exhibits, art classes, live music, educational experiences, and cultural programming for audiences of all ages.
Today, Zullo continues that tradition by creating opportunities for people to discover artists, learn new skills, gather with neighbors, and experience creativity in an intimate setting.

Why Intimate Matters
In a world of larger venues and endless digital experiences, Zullo offers something different.
We believe the most meaningful arts experiences happen in person and at a human scale. When audiences are close to performers. When artists can speak directly with visitors. When classes invite participation. When neighbors gather and conversation continues after the event ends.
Our size is part of our strength. It allows us to create experiences that feel welcoming, personal and connected.
Rooted in Downtown Medfield
Our location is an important part of who we are. Zullo sits in the center of Medfield—a town with a rich history of art, music and culture. We are next to the library, across from the Town House, and within walking distance of schools, restaurants and gathering places.
Being downtown allows us to weave art and culture into everyday life. People come for an exhibit and stay for dinner. Families visit the library and then drop off their children for art classes. Neighbors meet, connect and become part of something larger.
Our goal is to help build a vibrant downtown where creativity contributes to the energy, identity and well-being of the community.

What We Do
Zullo offers year-round opportunities to experience art and culture through:
- Exhibitions featuring artists from across the region
- Art classes and workshops for children and adults
- Live music performances across genres
- Community gatherings and cultural events
- Educational partnerships and artist engagement
- Space that supports local organizations and creative expression
Over our history, we have hosted nearly 200 exhibitions and welcomed thousands of participants through programming designed to make the arts accessible, welcoming and inspiring.

A New Chapter
In June of 2025, Zullo reached a major milestone. After operating in the same location for nearly 40-years as a renter, we purchased the building we have long called home.
Owning the building creates new possibilities. With support from grants, donors, volunteers and community partners, we are now planning the next phase of Zullo’s future. This work includes improving accessibility, expanding gathering spaces, and creating a stronger foundation for the next generation of programming while ensuring a permanent place exists for the arts in the heart of our downtown.
